Danilo lived another unique experience in October 2018: Antarctica Extreme! Sportcube was at his side in this extraordinary enterprise and supported him with an innovative food plan tailored to his livelihood. The R&D Lab Sportcube, in collaboration with the team of nutritionists, carried out a careful analysis Danilo’s nutritional and integration needs, taking into consideration the effort required by the adventure and the characteristics of the environment in which it is takes place. Sportcube has therefore developed food substitutes (to be distributed in the morning, midday and evening time slots in a wide range of flavors to break up the monotony of taste) and ad hoc food supplements. The real innovation linked to these products is the low weight, to facilitate transport (we recall that Danilo dragged a sled weighing 160 kg with everything needed for survival for about 1,300 km) combined with the practicality of use and intake. In this breathtaking venture, an airplane took our hero from Punta Arenas (Chile) to Hercules Inlet, on Weddell Bay; from here he pointed to the geographic South Pole. Than he was picked up by a plane that took him to the Monte Vinson region, the highest mountain in Antarctica. From the skies that dominate this mountainous area, Danilo flew in a parachute at an altitude of 5,000 meters, launching himself from a twin-engine propeller plane. On the ground, he pointed to the third objective: the ascent of Mount Vinson (4.897 meters), the Antarctic roof and the fourth of his ‘7Summits’.
